SUMMARY:Strengthening Families Using a Racial Equity Lens
DESCRIPTION:Speaker:  \nJessica A Pryce\, Ph.D. \nDescription: \nThis presentation focuses on how leaders from child and family serving organizations can work to understand and mitigate the problems of racism\, marginalization\, and injustice in our systems of care. Dr. Pryce makes a compelling argument that for leaders to change systems\, they must practice looking inward. She implores child welfare leaders\, community partners\, parents\, foster parents\, and educators to identify their own personal philosophies\, mindsets and values and how shifting those towards anti-racism will lead to true systemic change. She includes a discussion on evolutionary versus revolutionary efforts and offers strategies that lead to profound revolutionary change. \nObjectives: \n\nDefine evolutionary change and revolutionary change.\nIdentify strategies for your organization to engage in revolutionary work.\nUnderstand different types of prevention strategies within child welfare.\nIdentify ineffective mindsets within their organizations.\n\nTo register for this training click on the link below: \nhttps://www.mycacwa.org/eventmanager/trainingevent/details/8 \nIf there are questions or problems with registering\, contact training@cacwa.org.

SUMMARY:January CACWA Accreditation Lunch & Learn - Accreditation Timeline & Process and the MDT Standard
DESCRIPTION:Accreditation is the highest level of membership that a CAC can achieve as part of NCA’s nationwide network. It is a rigorous process that ensures quality evidence-based services are being provided by CACs for children and families according to NCA’s National Standards of Accreditation. In this series we will review each of the standards and associated sections of the application on a monthly basis. Attending any or all of the Lunch & Learn sessions will help with understanding the accreditation process by reviewing the changes in the 2023 Standards and organizing the application process. \nJanuary is the kickoff for the Lunch & Learn sessions and we will begin with an overview of the accreditation timeline and the application itself. This will be followed up by  walking through the MDT Standard taking a look at new language and added sections in the 2023 National Standards of Accreditation. \nTo register for this event click here!
