SUMMARY:Washington Statewide Forensic Interview Peer Review
DESCRIPTION:Peer review is an opportunity for forensic interviewers across the state to review forensic interviewing techniques for cases involving suspected child abuse. Peer review provides a space for thorough discussion and interview feedback as well as overview of relevant research in the field of forensic interviewing. In addition\, meetings provide opportunity for networking with other forensic interviewers in the field and peer support across the state. \nPeer review is for Forensic Interview Specialists and MDT Partners who completed a 32-hour basic forensic interview training (CAIA or another nationally recognized training) and conduct forensic interviews as part of their work. \nPeer review is held on a quarterly basis from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM. \nRegister HERE! \nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:This training is designed to deepen your awareness of how strangulation and asphyxiation may present in child abuse cases and how to uncover critical details during the forensic interview process. By the end of this session\, you will be better equipped to understand what makes strangulation or choking a crime\, recognize the normalization of strangulation or choking behaviors through social media and pornography\, understand the three ways strangulation/choking & asphyxiation are most commonly presented in a child forensic interview\, and recognize that listening for cues from the child is critical during field interviewing for making vital decisions about forensic interview referral and/or medical care. \nClick HERE to register. \nQuestions?
